For the greatest time Isla Holbox was a rendezvous for whale shark enthusiasts. Even though, it still draws the whale shark watchers, it has been an avoid for those looking to get away and those who find the adrenaline speed that comes with hunting Tarpon. Holbox continues to be fairly undiscovered. It lacks the night living of Cancun (thank heavens), but where it does not absence is on elegance, serenity, and good fishing. It can also be known for the numerous chickens, specifically flamingos that frequent the lagoons holbox hotel.

To reach at Isla Holbox one can fly into Cancun Global Airport. From there you are able to rent a car or have a taxi. There is also coach company, but many guiding companies will give you you a shuttle. Get Highway #180 north out of Cancun toward the town of Merida and then cross around 80 km until you appear to the city of El Ideal. At this point, mind north for approximately 70 km to the city of Chiquila wherever you'll ditch the automobile and get a ferry over the Yalahau Lagoon to Isla Holbox.
